Last Saturday I was able to sustain President Monson as the new prophet. What is really neat is that his name is Thomas Spencer and my name is Spencer Thomas. I enjoyed each time that he spoke to us during conference.

I really enjoyed what President Monson told us in one of his talks last Sunday. He said:

"Mortality is a period of testing, a time to prove ourselves worthy to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father. In order to be tested, we must sometimes face challenges and difficulties. At times there appears to be no light at the tunnel’s end—no dawn to break the night’s darkness. We feel surrounded by the pain of broken hearts, the disappointment of shattered dreams, and the despair of vanished hopes. If you find yourself in such a situation, I plead with you to turn to our Heavenly Father in faith. He will lift you and guide you. He will not always take your afflictions from you, but He will comfort and lead you with love through whatever storm you face."

It has been really hard going through these past couple of months knowing that when my sister is born she is going to die. This has been the hardest test I have gone through in my life. There have been many days and nights that I have been very sad about what is going to happen. I have wondered why this has to happen to our family and why things can't be different.

Some of the things that have helped me is reading my scriptures and praying. When my mom and dad first told Natalie and I about Zion-Grace my dad led us in a family prayer and asked Heavenly Father to help us to feel peace. After the prayer was done I felt the Holy Ghost comforting me.

President Monson said last Sunday that Heavenly Father will not always take the hard things away but that he will comfort us. I have felt that he has comforted and lead me and my family through this hard time.

I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that President Monson is a Prophet and that what he said is true. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and he suffered for our sins and because of his resurrection I can be with my little sister again.

In the name of Jesus Christ Amen
